Carl E. Schorske（カール・E・ショースキー、1915–2015）は、アメリカの歴史学者、思想史家。コロンビア大学卒業後、ハーバード大学で歴史学博士号（Ph.D.）を取得した。カリフォルニア大学バークレー校やプリンストン大学で教鞭を執り、近代ヨーロッパ思想史、とりわけ19世紀末ウィーンの文化、政治、芸術を専門とした。歴史、文学、美術、音楽、精神分析を横断する学際的な研究で国際的に高く評価されている。1979年刊行の『Fin-de-Siècle Vienna: Politics and Culture』は、世紀末ウィーンにおける政治と文化の相互作用を描いた古典的研究として、1981年のピューリッツァー賞 一般ノンフィクション部門を受賞した。著書に『Fin-de-Siècle Vienna: Politics and Culture』『Thinking with History』などがある。

Carl E. Schorske (1915–2015) was an American historian and intellectual historian. After graduating from Columbia University, he earned his Ph.D. in History from Harvard University. He taught at the University of California, Berkeley and later at Princeton University, where he became one of the leading scholars of modern European intellectual and cultural history. Best known for his interdisciplinary approach, Schorske explored the intersections of politics, literature, art, music, and psychoanalysis in fin-de-siècle Vienna. His landmark book Fin-de-Siècle Vienna: Politics and Culture won the 1981 Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction and remains a classic study of the cultural transformation of late nineteenth-century Vienna.
