Vicente Luis Mora (born 1970) is a Spanish novelist, poet, literary critic, and scholar from Córdoba. He holds a law degree and a doctorate in contemporary Spanish literature from the University of Córdoba and teaches Spanish literature at the University of Málaga. His research examines contemporary Hispanic fiction and poetry, digital humanities, creative imagination, and the effects of technology on reading and writing. Working across novels, poetry, essays, aphorisms, and literary criticism, Mora frequently experiments with form and the relationship between literature and other media. “Centroeuropa” follows a widower who acquires farmland in early nineteenth-century Central Europe and discovers the bodies of Prussian soldiers beneath the soil, exposing buried memories of war and the secrets preserved by individuals and states. Rahul Bery’s English translation was longlisted for the 2026 National Book Award for Translated Literature.
