平路（ピンルー、1953年–）は、台湾・高雄生まれの小説家、エッセイスト、文化評論家。本名は路平。台湾大学で心理学を学び、米国アイオワ大学で修士号を取得した。新聞の編集者や論説委員、大学教員、香港の光華新聞文化センター主任などを務め、ジェンダー、政治、人権、台湾社会を題材に執筆してきた。孫文と宋慶齢の関係を女性の視点から描き直した『天の涯までも―小説・孫文と宋慶齢』などの著書があり、2021年に台湾の国家文芸賞を受賞。『To the East of the East』（未邦訳）は、失踪した夫を捜して北京へ渡った台湾人女性の物語に、清朝の皇帝と台湾をめぐる作中小説を重ね、個人の自由と台湾・中国関係を描いた作品である。ジェレミー・ティアンによる英訳は、2026年全米図書賞翻訳文学部門のロングリストに選ばれた。
Ping Lu (born 1953) is a Taiwanese novelist, essayist, and cultural commentator from Kaohsiung. The pen name of Lu Ping, she studied psychology at National Taiwan University and earned a master’s degree from the University of Iowa. She has worked as a newspaper editor and columnist, taught at universities, and directed Taiwan’s Kwang Hwa Information and Culture Center in Hong Kong. Her fiction addresses gender, politics, human rights, and Taiwan’s contested history, often revisiting public events through women’s private experiences. A recipient of Taiwan’s National Award for the Arts, she is also the author of “Love and Revolution.” “To the East of the East” interweaves a Taiwanese woman’s search for her missing husband in Beijing with a historical novel about a Qing emperor and the seas around Taiwan. Jeremy Tiang’s English translation was longlisted for the 2026 National Book Award for Translated Literature.
