ヒラリー・マンテル（Hilary Mantel、1952–2022）は、イギリスの小説家。歴史上の人物を現代的な感覚と鋭い心理描写によってよみがえらせる作風で知られ、現代英文学を代表する作家の一人となった。代表作「ウルフ・ホール」三部作では、ヘンリー8世に仕えた政治家トマス・クロムウェルの視点から、宗教改革期のイングランド宮廷における権力、野心、忠誠を描いている。第1作『ウルフ・ホール』と第2作『罪人を召し出せ』で、それぞれブッカー賞を受賞した。

Hilary Mantel (1952–2022) was a British novelist renowned for bringing historical figures to life through psychological insight, narrative immediacy, and a distinctly modern sensibility. Her best-known work, the *Wolf Hall* trilogy, portrays the court of Henry VIII through the eyes of the statesman Thomas Cromwell, exploring power, ambition, loyalty, and political survival in Reformation England. She won the Booker Prize for both *Wolf Hall* and its sequel, *Bring Up the Bodies*, becoming one of the most celebrated historical novelists of her generation.
