Yudetamago is a Japanese manga duo consisting of Takashi Shimada (1960–), who writes the stories, and Yoshinori Nakai (1961–), who creates the artwork. While still in high school, they received an honorable mention in the 1978 Akatsuka Award for “Kinnikuman,” which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump the following year. The series received the Shogakukan Manga Award in 1985. It follows the initially inept superhero Kinnikuman as he grows through wrestling matches, friendships, and rivalries, combining eccentric special moves and dramatic reversals with characters submitted by readers. In 2011, the duo revived the series after a twenty-four-year interval, continuing its earlier conflicts and relationships in new story arcs.
