Eugenia Cheng（ユージニア・チェン） イギリス生まれの数学者、数学教育者、ピアニスト。ケンブリッジ大学で数学の博士号を取得し、圏論（カテゴリー理論）の研究者として活動する一方、シカゴ美術館附属美術大学（School of the Art Institute of Chicago）のScientist in Residenceとして、芸術を学ぶ学生に数学を教えている。数学への苦手意識（Math Phobia）をなくすことをライフワークとし、数学を料理や芸術、日常生活になぞらえて伝える独創的な解説で広く知られる。代表作『世界は圏論でできている』（原題: "The Joy of Abstraction: An Exploration of Math, Category Theory, and Life"）は、現代数学の重要分野である圏論を、数学だけでなく芸術や人間関係、思考法とも結び付けながら平易に紹介した一冊である。専門的な概念を豊富な比喩と具体例で解き明かし、数学の本質的な美しさと抽象化の力を伝える作品として高く評価されている。
