Jon Fosse (born 1959) is a Norwegian novelist, playwright, and poet renowned for his minimalist prose and deeply meditative exploration of silence, faith, solitude, and the mysteries of human existence. One of the most performed contemporary playwrights in the world, he has also earned international acclaim for his fiction. His novel *Trilogy* is celebrated for its lyrical style and haunting portrayal of two young lovers struggling to survive, and is widely regarded as one of his finest works. In 2023, Fosse was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for his innovative plays and prose that give voice to the unsayable.
