Rin Usami (1999–) is a Japanese novelist who began writing as a teenager. Her fiction explores youth, family, identity, and emotional isolation with remarkable psychological insight. After making her debut by winning the Bungei Prize for "Kaka" in 2019, she received the 164th Akutagawa Prize in 2021 for "Oshi, Moe" ("The Idol Burns").
