ウィリアム・T・ヴォルマン（William T. Vollmann、1959年–）は、アメリカの小説家、ジャーナリスト、エッセイスト。ロサンゼルスに生まれ、コーネル大学で比較文学を学んだのち、アフガニスタン、カンボジア、ソマリア、イラクなどで取材を行った。北米における先住民とヨーロッパ系入植者の遭遇を描く連作「Seven Dreams」では、その一作『ザ・ライフルズ』（The Rifles）が邦訳されている。ナチス・ドイツとソ連の戦争を背景に、芸術家や軍人、市民の選択を複数の物語で描いた『Europe Central』（未邦訳）は、全米図書賞を受賞した。小説とルポルタージュの双方で、戦争、暴力、貧困、植民地化、社会の周縁に置かれた人々を取り上げ、現地取材と歴史資料をもとに個人の倫理的選択を検証している。

William T. Vollmann (1959–) is an American novelist, journalist, and essayist. Born in Los Angeles, he studied comparative literature at Cornell University and later reported from Afghanistan, Cambodia, Somalia, Iraq, and other regions affected by war. His “Seven Dreams” series examines encounters between Indigenous peoples and European settlers across the history of North America. “Europe Central,” a sequence of interconnected narratives about artists, soldiers, and civilians in Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, won the National Book Award. Across fiction and reportage, he draws on fieldwork and historical research to investigate war, violence, poverty, colonization, marginalized lives, and the ethical choices made under extreme conditions.
