Santa Uonome (born 1975) is a Japanese manga artist from Nara Prefecture. After graduating from university and working for a construction company, he made his professional debut in 2007 and has since created numerous works connecting food with personal memory. His representative series, "Sensō Meshi," is based on interviews with people who experienced the war and on historical research. Through meals eaten by soldiers, civilians on the home front, and returning evacuees—including omelet rice aboard the battleship Yamato, boxed meals prepared for kamikaze pilots, and croquettes sold in postwar black markets—the series records the everyday lives and memories of people living through wartime deprivation.
