略歴(Biography)
遠野遥(とおの はるか、1991–) 日本の小説家。現代の若者が抱える孤独や人間関係の不安、身体性を繊細な心理描写で描いている。2019年、『改良』で第56回文藝賞を受賞してデビューし、2020年には同作で第163回芥川賞を受賞した。『改良』は、留学生と日本人学生の交流を通して、言葉や文化の違い、他者との距離感を静かな筆致で描き、現代社会におけるコミュニケーションの難しさを浮かび上がらせた。
Haruka Tōno (1991–) is a Japanese novelist whose fiction explores loneliness, physicality, and the emotional uncertainties of contemporary young adults. He made his literary debut by winning the 56th Bungei Prize in 2019 for "Kairyō" ("Improvement"), which also earned him the 163rd Akutagawa Prize in 2020. Centered on the relationship between an international student and a Japanese university student, the novel examines cultural difference, intimacy, and the challenges of communication in contemporary society with understated precision.
