Torbjørn Ekelund (1971–) is a Norwegian writer whose work explores the relationship between people and the natural world. He is also a co-founder of Harvest, an online magazine devoted to outdoor life, environmental issues, and encounters with nature. After developing epilepsy, he gave up driving and began walking as part of his daily life. That experience became the starting point for “In Praise of Paths: Walking Through Time and Nature,” in which he combines literature, philosophy, history, and personal observation to examine why human beings walk and how paths have shaped their lives.
