Masami Toho is a translator and writer working on management, economics, organizations, and society. She graduated in political science from Keio University’s Faculty of Law and earned an MBA at Babson College. Before becoming independent, she worked on magazine articles and books at Nikkei BP and GLOBIS. Her translation of David Epstein’s “Range” examines broad experience, learning across fields, and the limits of treating early specialization as the sole route to achievement. In Gary Hamel and Michele Zanini’s “Humanocracy,” she translated an investigation of bureaucratic constraints and organizational arrangements centered on human capabilities. She also translated Joan Magretta’s illustrated introduction to Michael Porter’s competitive strategy, explaining competition and value creation through text and diagrams.
