Akiko Tomita (born 1988) is a Japanese sales consultant working on sales processes, referral-based customer development, and sales training. She left Waseda University’s School of Education before graduating and moved from part-time work at a pachinko parlour into insurance sales. Her publisher, Mikasa Shobo, credits her with meeting MDRT qualification requirements seven times, including six qualifications at the higher Court of the Table level. She began working as a sales consultant in 2020 and led Million Dollar Sales Meeting as head of Make the Future. Her work with individuals and businesses addressed approaches to selling, the structure of sales conversations, customer relationships, and employee training. In her 2025 book Mirion Dara Eigyo Kaigi, she drew on insurance sales and consulting experience to discuss working habits, time management, market positioning, the stages of a sales conversation, and relationships that generate referrals. Rather than treating prospecting solely as the pursuit of individual new customers, the book emphasized building a system in which existing customers and wider professional connections lead to introductions. Her 2026 book Mirion Dara Kyoun Shiko extended this discussion to the thinking and criteria that precede action. Drawing on setbacks in her own work and life and on her experience advising course participants, she examined language, relationships, working environments, and the use of time and money. She presented luck as something to address through everyday choices and practical adjustments, rather than leaving it entirely to chance.
