Charlie English（チャーリー・イングリッシュ、1967年生まれ）は、イギリスのジャーナリスト、ノンフィクション作家。インペリアル・カレッジ・ロンドンで工学を学び、シティ大学ロンドンでジャーナリズムを専攻した。パキスタンで記者として活動した後、The Independentを経てThe Guardianに入社し、芸術担当編集者や国際ニュース部長を歴任した。歴史、文化、探検、諜報活動をテーマとするノンフィクションを数多く執筆し、綿密な史料調査と現地取材を融合させた物語性豊かな作品で高い評価を受けている。特に、戦時下の芸術、文化遺産の保護、冷戦下の情報戦などを描いた作品は国際的な注目を集め、歴史上の知られざる出来事を鮮やかに描き出す作家として知られている。また、Royal Geographical Societyのフェローでもある。
Charlie English (born 1967) is a British journalist and nonfiction author. After studying engineering at Imperial College London and journalism at City, University of London, he began his reporting career in Pakistan before joining The Independent and later The Guardian, where he served as Arts Editor and Head of International News. English is widely acclaimed for narrative nonfiction that combines meticulous archival research with immersive reporting, exploring subjects such as cultural heritage, exploration, espionage, and twentieth-century history. His work has brought to light remarkable stories of artistic survival, intellectual resistance, and geopolitical conflict, establishing him as one of Britain's leading writers of historical nonfiction. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
