Takiro Terashita is a Japanese translator of books on international politics, economics, and social thought. His translations examine democracy, class structures, and relationships between states and markets. He translated Sohrab Ahmari’s “Tyranny, Inc.,” which investigates private power through workplace surveillance, employment contracts, arbitration, and corporate acquisitions. In Helen Thompson’s “Disorder,” he translated an account linking energy, geopolitics, and the history of democratic politics to explain instability in the twenty-first-century international order.
