Dean Falk (born 1944) is an American anthropologist and evolutionary biologist. Professor Emerita at Florida State University, she is known for her research on human brain evolution and the cognitive development of early hominins through the study of fossil endocasts. Her best-known book, "Braindance," explains how the human brain evolved by drawing on evidence from paleoanthropology, neuroscience, and evolutionary biology, showing how changes in anatomy, behavior, and environment shaped the human mind.
