David Grossman（ダヴィド・グロスマン、1954年生まれ）は、イスラエルの小説家、エッセイスト、ジャーナリスト。エルサレム生まれ。ヘブライ大学で哲学と演劇を学び、イスラエル放送局で長年ラジオ番組の制作・司会を務めた。イスラエルとパレスチナの対立、戦争、喪失、家族、人間の尊厳をテーマに、深い心理描写と豊かな文学性を備えた作品で高く評価され、現代イスラエル文学を代表する作家の一人とされる。2014年刊行の A Horse Walks into a Bar は、一人のスタンドアップ・コメディアンの舞台を通して、個人と国家が抱える傷や記憶を描いた長編小説として高い評価を受け、英訳版が2017年のInternational Booker Prizeを受賞した。著書に『ライオンの蜜』、See Under: Love、To the End of the Land などがある。

David Grossman (born 1954) is an Israeli novelist, essayist, and journalist. Born in Jerusalem, he studied philosophy and theatre at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem before working for many years as a broadcaster with Israel Radio. Widely regarded as one of the leading figures in contemporary Israeli literature, Grossman explores war, loss, family, memory, and the Israeli–Palestinian conflict through deeply psychological and humane fiction. His novel A Horse Walks into a Bar (2014), a powerful portrait of a stand-up comedian confronting personal and national trauma, won the 2017 International Booker Prize. His other notable works include See Under: Love, The Book of Intimate Grammar, To the End of the Land, Lion's Honey, Falling Out of Time, and A Horse Walks into a Bar.
