David E. Hoffman（デイヴィッド・E・ホフマン）は、アメリカのジャーナリスト、作家。長年にわたり The Washington Post の記者・編集者として活動し、外交、安全保障、ロシア・旧ソ連、核軍縮を中心に取材した。モスクワ支局長や外信編集長などを歴任し、冷戦終結後のロシア政治や国際安全保障問題を報じた第一人者として知られる。綿密な取材と豊富な資料に基づくノンフィクションで高い評価を受け、2009年刊行の『The Dead Hand: The Untold Story of the Cold War Arms Race and Its Dangerous Legacy』で2010年のピューリッツァー賞 一般ノンフィクション部門を受賞した。著書に『The Dead Hand』『The Billion Dollar Spy』『The Oligarchs』などがある。
David E. Hoffman is an American journalist and author. During a distinguished career at The Washington Post, he served as Moscow bureau chief, foreign editor, and diplomatic correspondent, covering the Soviet Union, Russia, foreign affairs, national security, and arms control. Renowned for his deeply researched narrative nonfiction, he has written extensively on the Cold War, nuclear weapons, intelligence, and post-Soviet Russia. His book "The Dead Hand: The Untold Story of the Cold War Arms Race and Its Dangerous Legacy" received the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction for its authoritative account of the nuclear arms race and its enduring consequences. His other notable works include "The Billion Dollar Spy," a history of one of the CIA's most important Cold War espionage operations, and "The Oligarchs," which examines the rise of Russia's post-Soviet business elite.
