菅沼悠介（すがぬま ゆうすけ、1977–） 日本の地質学者、古地磁気学者。国立極地研究所准教授。古地磁気や古環境の研究を専門とし、地層や堆積物に記録された地球磁場や気候変動の履歴を解明する研究に取り組んでいる。日本初の地質年代名「チバニアン」の国際認定では、GSSP（国際標準模式地）の申請を主導した研究グループの中心メンバーとして重要な役割を果たした。代表作『地磁気逆転と「チバニアン」』は、地磁気逆転の仕組みからチバニアン誕生までをわかりやすく解説し、最新の地球科学を一般読者に伝えた科学読み物である。

Yusuke Suganuma (1977–) is a Japanese geologist and paleomagnetist who serves as an associate professor at the National Institute of Polar Research. His research focuses on reconstructing Earth's magnetic field and past environments from geological records, including sedimentary strata and lake deposits. He played a central role in the research team that secured international recognition of the Chibanian as Japan's first officially designated stage in the geologic time scale. His book "Geomagnetic Reversal and the Chibanian: Why Does Earth's Magnetic Field Reverse?" explains the science of geomagnetic reversals and the significance of the Chibanian in an accessible way for general readers.
