スヴェン・ベッカート（Sven Beckert、1965–）は、ドイツ出身の歴史学者。ハーバード大学教授として近代世界史、資本主義史、経済史を研究し、とりわけ資本主義と帝国主義、奴隷制、グローバル経済の形成をめぐる研究で国際的に知られる。代表作『綿の帝国――グローバル資本主義はいかにして生まれたか』は、綿花産業の歴史を通して近代資本主義の成立と世界経済の発展を描いた画期的な研究で、バンクロフト賞をはじめ数々の賞を受賞した。近年は『綿の帝国』に続く『Blood and Money: War, Slavery, Finance, and Empire』（未邦訳）で、南北戦争が金融資本と世界経済に及ぼした影響を多角的に論じている。
Sven Beckert (born 1965) is a German historian and professor at Harvard University whose work focuses on the history of capitalism, economic history, and the making of the modern global economy. He is internationally recognized for examining the intertwined histories of empire, slavery, industrialization, and global trade. His landmark book *Empire of Cotton: A Global History* transformed understanding of how the cotton industry shaped the rise of modern capitalism and won numerous honors, including the Bancroft Prize. More recently, *Blood and Money: War, Slavery, Finance, and Empire* explores how the American Civil War reshaped global finance and imperial power, extending his influential analysis of capitalism's historical development.
