Stieg Larsson (1954–2004) was a Swedish journalist and novelist. He spent much of his career investigating far-right movements and racism, and co-founded and edited the anti-fascist magazine Expo. Drawing on his experience as an investigative journalist, he created crime fiction that combined compelling suspense with sharp social criticism. Published after his death, the Millennium series became a global publishing phenomenon. His best-known novel, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", follows journalist Mikael Blomkvist and hacker Lisbeth Salander as they uncover crimes involving corporate corruption, abuse of power, and violence against women.
