スコット・エルズワース（Scott Ellsworth、1954年–）は、アメリカの歴史家。オクラホマ州タルサに生まれ、デューク大学で歴史学の博士号を取得した。スミソニアン協会の歴史研究員を経て、ミシガン大学でアフリカ系アメリカ人史、アメリカ南部、スポーツと人種、犯罪と司法を教えている。1921年にタルサの黒人居住区が襲撃された人種虐殺事件の研究に早くから取り組み、事件を調査する州委員会では主要研究者を務め、犠牲者の集団埋葬地の捜索にも関わった。『The Ground Breaking: The Tulsa Race Massacre and an American City’s Search for Justice』（未邦訳）では、事件そのものと、記録から消された歴史を市民や研究者が取り戻していく過程を描き、2021年の全米図書賞ノンフィクション部門ロングリストに選ばれた。
Scott Ellsworth (1954–) is an American historian born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He earned a PhD in history from Duke University, worked as a historian at the Smithsonian Institution, and now teaches African American history, Southern literature, race and sports, and crime and justice at the University of Michigan. Ellsworth was an early scholar of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, served as a leading researcher for the official commission investigating the event, and helped initiate the search for victims’ unmarked graves. In “The Ground Breaking: The Tulsa Race Massacre and an American City’s Search for Justice,” he recounts both the massacre and the long effort by survivors, residents, and researchers to recover a history deliberately suppressed from the public record. The book was longlisted for the 2021 National Book Award for Nonfiction.
