日本文学研究者。1956年北海道生まれ。中央大学文学部教授。専門は近世文学・出版文化史。江戸から明治にかけての出版流通や読書文化の研究で知られ、『江戸の本づくし』『絵草紙屋』『近世読者とそのゆくえ』などの著作がある。近年は『明治の出版革命―書店界の風雲児「兎屋」の興亡』で、近代出版市場の成立過程を鮮やかに描き出した。

Toshiyuki Suzuki is a Japanese scholar of literature and book history. Born in Hokkaido in 1956, he is Professor of Literature at Chuo University. Specializing in early modern Japanese literature and the history of publishing, he has written extensively on book production, distribution, and reading culture in the Edo and Meiji periods. His works include Edo no Honzukushi, Ezoshiya, Kinsei Dokusha to Sono Yukue, and The Meiji Publishing Revolution: The Rise and Fall of the Maverick Bookseller “Usagiya”.
