新藤 雄介（SHINDO Yusuke）- メディア史・社会学研究者

新藤 雄介（しんどう ゆうすけ、1983–） メディア史・社会学研究者。早稲田大学第一文学部卒業、東京大学大学院学際情報学府博士課程満期退学。博士（社会情報学）。福島大学行政政策学類を経て、早稲田大学教育学部教授。近代日本における読書文化、出版、図書館、メディアをめぐる実践の歴史を研究し、「読書」を社会的・文化的な営みとして捉え直す研究に取り組んでいる。代表作『読書装置と知のメディア史――近代の書物をめぐる実践』は、書物と人びとの関係を多様な「読書装置」の視点から読み解き、近代日本の知の流通に新たな見方を提示した。

Yusuke Shindo (born 1983) is a Japanese scholar of media history and sociology. He graduated from Waseda University and completed the doctoral program in Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies at the University of Tokyo, earning a Ph.D. in Social Information Studies. After teaching at Fukushima University, he joined the Faculty of Education at Waseda University. His research examines the history of reading, publishing, libraries, and media in modern Japan, exploring reading as a broader social and cultural practice. His best-known book, "Reading Devices and the Media History of Knowledge: Practices Surrounding Books in Modern Japan," offers a new perspective on the circulation of knowledge by analyzing the diverse institutions and practices that shaped people's encounters with books.
