Tadashi Shiraishi (born 1965) is a Japanese legal scholar and Professor at the Graduate Schools for Law and Politics, the University of Tokyo. After graduating from the University of Tokyo, he taught at Tohoku University before joining the University of Tokyo as a professor in 2003. Specializing in competition law (antitrust law), he is widely recognized as one of Japan's leading authorities on antimonopoly law, consumer protection, and the regulation of digital platforms. His book *Understanding How to Read the Law* (*Hōritsu no Yomikata ga Wakaru Hon*) introduces readers to the principles of interpreting statutes and judicial decisions, offering an accessible guide for both law students and legal practitioners.
