Masumi Shimafuji (born 1963) is a Japanese translator and business consultant working on marketing, organizations, corporate strategy, and content production. She graduated from Keio University’s Faculty of Letters and Kyoto College of Art, and left Kobe University’s Faculty of Human Development before graduating. After working in apparel planning at Renown and Coronet, she ran made-to-order clothing and mail-order businesses while raising her children and expanded into digital work. From 2014, she managed and produced international business content and helped negotiate Japanese appearances by Steve Wozniak and Randi Zuckerberg. As Jay Abraham’s East Asia director, she also worked on consulting and new business strategies for Japanese companies. Alongside this work, she supervised the Japanese retranslation of Abraham’s Getting Everything You Can Out of All You’ve Got, published as Shinyaku High Power Marketing in 2017. The book examines existing customer relationships and business strengths; the new Japanese edition restored discussions of the nature of business and the internet that had been omitted from the earlier translation. In 2019, she translated Simon Sinek, David Mead, and Peter Docker’s Find Your Why, a guide to reviewing individual and team experiences and articulating the purpose underlying their work. In 2022, she founded xRsion, a company developing 3D and AI technologies, and she has also served as a visiting professor at Kansai University of International Studies. In 2026, she supervised the Japanese translation of Jon Levy’s Team Intelligence, translated by Satoko Hattori with Tatsuo Koyama as editorial supervisor. Drawing on examples involving business leaders, athletes, military personnel, and scientists, the book examined leadership beyond individual ability or charisma. It explored how the allocation of attention and resources, together with interactions within a team, contributed to an organization’s collective performance.
