略歴(Biography)

式場俊三(しきば・しゅんぞう、1912–2004)は、日本の編集者、出版人。文藝春秋で編集者として活動した後、戦時中は満洲文藝春秋社に勤務。戦後は永井龍男らとともに日比谷出版社を設立し、永井隆の『長崎の鐘』を刊行するなど、戦後出版文化の復興に尽力した。その後、文藝春秋に復帰し、編集・出版活動を続ける一方、兄で精神科医の式場隆三郎とともに画家・山下清の才能を世に紹介する役割も果たした。晩年には『山下清画集』『山下清の絵本』などの監修・編集を手がけ、山下清の作品保存と普及に大きく貢献した。

Shunzo Shikiba (1912–2004) was a Japanese editor and publisher. After beginning his career at Bungeishunjū, he worked for Manchuria Bungeishunjū during the Second World War. In the postwar years, he co-founded Hibiya Publishing with novelist Tatsuo Nagai and played a key role in publishing Takashi Nagai''s "The Bells of Nagasaki," one of the landmark books of postwar Japan. He later returned to Bungeishunjū while continuing his work as an editor and publisher. Together with his elder brother, the psychiatrist Ryuzaburo Shikiba, he also helped introduce the self-taught artist Kiyoshi Yamashita to a wider audience. In his later years, he edited and supervised publications such as "The Art of Kiyoshi Yamashita" and "The Picture Book of Kiyoshi Yamashita," making a lasting contribution to preserving and promoting the artist''s legacy.
