Masaaki Shiraishi (born 1958) is a Japanese editor best known for founding the magazine "Seishin Kango" and the "Care o Hiraku" ("Opening Care") book series at Igaku-Shoin. Working across fields including healthcare, disability studies, philosophy, and the humanities, he has collaborated with numerous authors and helped bring many award-winning works to a broad readership. His best-known book, "Care and Editing," reflects on more than twenty-five years of editorial work and explores how the practice of editing can foster dialogue, care, and new ways of thinking.
