ジョイ・ウィリアムズ（Joy Williams、1944年 - ）は、アメリカの小説家、短編作家、エッセイスト。日常のなかに潜む不条理や死、喪失、人間と自然の関係を、ブラックユーモアと幻想的な感覚を交えて描いてきた。デビュー長編『State of Grace』（未邦訳）は1974年の全米図書賞最終候補となり、短編小説への功績に対してRea Award for the Short Storyを受賞。代表作『The Quick and the Dead』（未邦訳）は2001年のピュリッツァー賞フィクション部門最終候補となった。アリゾナを舞台に、母親を亡くした三人の少女を中心として、死者の気配や荒廃する自然、奇妙な大人たちとの出会いが交錯する物語を描いている。
Joy Williams (born 1944) is an American novelist, short-story writer, and essayist whose fiction explores absurdity, death, loss, and the relationship between humans and the natural world, often with dark humor and surreal touches. Her debut novel, "State of Grace," was a finalist for the 1974 National Book Award, and she received the Rea Award for the Short Story for her contribution to the form. Her novel "The Quick and the Dead" was a finalist for the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Set in Arizona and centered on three motherless teenage girls, the novel brings together encounters with eccentric adults, the presence of the dead, and a damaged natural landscape.
