ジョナサン・タプリン（Jonathan Taplin）は、アメリカのメディア研究者、映画・音楽プロデューサー。ボブ・ディランやザ・バンドのツアーマネージャーとしてキャリアを始め、マーティン・スコセッシ監督の『ミーン・ストリート』をはじめとする映画やテレビ番組を制作。その後、メリルリンチでメディア分野のM&Aに携わり、1990年代には初期のビデオ・オン・デマンド企業Intertainerを設立するなど、文化産業とデジタル技術の変化を実務の側から経験してきた。南カリフォルニア大学（USC）アネンバーグ・スクールで教鞭を執り、同大学Annenberg Innovation Labのディレクターを務めた。代表作『Move Fast and Break Things: How Facebook, Google, and Amazon Cornered Culture and Undermined Democracy』（未邦訳）では、インターネットが当初の分散的な構想から巨大プラットフォームによる市場支配へと変化した過程をたどり、Google、Facebook、Amazonなどへの富と権力の集中が、音楽、映画、出版、ジャーナリズムなどの文化産業とクリエイターの収入、さらに民主主義に及ぼす影響を論じている。
Jonathan Taplin is an American media scholar and film and music producer whose career has spanned the entertainment industry, finance, digital media, and academia. He began his career as a tour manager for Bob Dylan and The Band and went on to produce films including Martin Scorsese's "Mean Streets." He later worked in media mergers and acquisitions at Merrill Lynch and founded Intertainer, an early video-on-demand company, giving him firsthand experience of the transformation of cultural industries by digital technology. He taught at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and served as Director of the Annenberg Innovation Lab. In "Move Fast and Break Things: How Facebook, Google, and Amazon Cornered Culture and Undermined Democracy," Taplin traces the transformation of the Internet from a decentralized vision into an economy dominated by powerful platforms, examining how the concentration of wealth and power in companies such as Google, Facebook, and Amazon has affected music, film, publishing, journalism, creators' livelihoods, and democratic society.
