ジョナサン・フリードランド（Jonathan Freedland、1967年 - ） イギリスのジャーナリスト、歴史作家、小説家。『ガーディアン』のコラムニストとして政治や国際問題を論じるほか、BBC Radio 4の歴史番組『The Long View』の司会も務める。緻密な取材と歴史資料に基づくノンフィクションで知られ、オーウェル賞（ジャーナリズム部門）を受賞。また、サム・ボーン（Sam Bourne）の筆名でスリラー小説も発表している。代表作『アウシュヴィッツ脱出 命を賭けて世界に真実を伝えた男』は、アウシュヴィッツ強制収容所から脱出し、その実態を世界に伝えようとしたルドルフ・ヴルバの生涯を描いた評伝である。綿密な史料調査と力強い物語性が高く評価され、コスタ賞およびベイリー・ギフォード賞の最終候補となったほか、全米ユダヤ図書賞を受賞した。
Jonathan Freedland (born 1967) is a British journalist, historian, and novelist. A longtime columnist for *The Guardian*, he also presents BBC Radio 4's history series *The Long View*. Renowned for his incisive political commentary and meticulous historical research, he received the Orwell Prize for Journalism. He also writes bestselling thrillers under the pseudonym Sam Bourne. His nonfiction work *The Escape Artist: The Man Who Broke Out of Auschwitz to Warn the World* recounts the life of Rudolf Vrba, one of the first Jewish prisoners to escape Auschwitz and expose the Holocaust. The book was shortlisted for the Costa Book Awards and the Baillie Gifford Prize, and won the National Jewish Book Award.
