Jokha Alharthi(ジョハ・アルハルシ、1978年生まれ)は、オマーンの小説家、文学研究者。オマーンで学んだ後、エディンバラ大学で古典アラビア文学の博士号を取得した。現在はスルタン・カブース大学で古典アラビア文学を教えている。オマーンの歴史や社会の変化、女性の生き方、家族、記憶をテーマに、繊細な人物描写と重層的な物語構成によって描く作品で高く評価され、現代アラビア文学を代表する作家の一人とされる。2010年刊行の Sayyidat al-Qamar は、オマーンの三姉妹とその家族の人生を通して、奴隷制の廃止や近代化の中で揺れ動く社会を描いた長編小説として高く評価され、英訳版 Celestial Bodies が2021年のInternational Booker Prizeを受賞した。これはアラビア語作品として初めて同賞を受賞した作品である。著書に Celestial Bodies、Bitter Orange Tree、Silken Gazelles などがある。

Jokha Alharthi (born 1978) is an Omani novelist and academic. After studying in Oman, she earned a Ph.D. in Classical Arabic Literature from the University of Edinburgh and is now a professor of Classical Arabic Literature at Sultan Qaboos University. Widely regarded as one of the leading voices in contemporary Arabic literature, Alharthi explores social change, family, memory, women's lives, and Omani history through richly layered narratives and lyrical prose. Her novel Sayyidat al-Qamar (2010), translated into English as Celestial Bodies, won the 2019 International Booker Prize, becoming the first Arabic-language novel to receive the award.
