ジョン・ヴァイラント（John Vaillant、1962–）は、カナダのジャーナリスト、ノンフィクション作家。自然、環境、歴史をテーマにした綿密な取材に基づく作品で知られ、人間と自然との関係を壮大なスケールで描いている。作品は世界各国で高く評価され、『The Golden Spruce』や『The Tiger』は数々の文学賞を受賞・候補となった。代表作『Fire Weather』では、カナダ・フォートマクマレーで発生した大規模森林火災を通して、気候変動がもたらす新たな災害の実態と、化石燃料に依存する現代社会の脆弱性を描いている。
John Vaillant (1962–) is a Canadian journalist and nonfiction author. He is renowned for deeply reported narrative nonfiction that explores the relationship between people, nature, and history. Combining immersive storytelling with scientific and historical research, his work examines how environmental forces shape human societies. His best-known book, "Fire Weather", chronicles the catastrophic wildfire that swept through Fort McMurray, Canada, using the disaster to explore the accelerating impacts of climate change and the risks of a fossil fuel–dependent world.
