ジョン・マルコフ（John Markoff、1949年–）は、アメリカのテクノロジー・ジャーナリスト。1988年から2016年までニューヨーク・タイムズ紙の記者を務め、シリコンバレーを拠点にパーソナルコンピューター、インターネット、コンピューターセキュリティ、人工知能、ロボティクスなど、情報技術の発展と社会への影響を長年取材した。2013年には、労働とオートメーションを扱った同紙の報道プロジェクトの一員としてピュリッツァー賞解説報道部門を受賞。現在はスタンフォード大学人間中心AI研究所（HAI）のDistinguished Fellowを務める。代表作『人工知能は敵か味方か パートナー、主人、奴隷――人間と機械の関係を決める転換点』（原題 "Machines of Loving Grace: The Quest for Common Ground Between Humans and Robots"）では、AIとロボット研究の歴史をたどりながら、人間を機械で置き換える「自動化」と、人間の能力を機械によって高める「拡張」という二つの方向から、人間とテクノロジーの関係を描いている。
John Markoff (born 1949) is an American technology journalist who has chronicled the development of Silicon Valley and the social impact of computing for decades. From 1988 until his retirement in 2016, he was a reporter for The New York Times, covering personal computing, the Internet, computer security, artificial intelligence, robotics, and the broader consequences of information technology. In 2013, he shared the Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting as part of a New York Times team reporting on labor and automation. He is currently a Distinguished Fellow at Stanford University's Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI). In "Machines of Loving Grace: The Quest for Common Ground Between Humans and Robots," Markoff traces the intertwined histories of artificial intelligence and robotics, examining the competing visions of automation, in which machines replace human labor, and augmentation, in which technology is designed to extend human abilities.
