Jim VandeHei (born 1971) is an American journalist and media entrepreneur. After working as a political reporter and White House correspondent for The Washington Post, he helped launch the political news organization Politico. In 2017, he co-founded Axios with Mike Allen and Roy Schwartz and serves as its CEO. In “Smart Brevity: The Power of Saying More with Less,” written with Allen and Schwartz, he explains a method for communicating essential information clearly, concisely, and with an immediate account of why it matters.
