Jenny Erpenbeck（イェニー・エルペンベック、1967年生まれ）は、ドイツの小説家、演出家。東ベルリン生まれ。フンボルト大学ベルリンで書籍製作を学んだ後、ベルリン芸術大学で音楽演出を学び、オペラ演出家として活動したのち小説家へ転じた。ドイツ統一や歴史の断絶、記憶、亡命、移民、アイデンティティをテーマに、簡潔で詩的な文体と実験的な構成を特徴とする作品で高く評価され、現代ドイツ文学を代表する作家の一人とされる。2021年刊行の Kairos は、東ドイツ末期を舞台にした恋愛小説として高い評価を受け、2024年に英訳版が国際ブッカー賞を受賞した。著書に『終わりの日々』『行く、行った、行ってしまった』などがある。

Jenny Erpenbeck (born 1967) is a German novelist and theatre director. Born in East Berlin, she studied bookmaking at Humboldt University of Berlin before training in music theatre direction at the Berlin University of the Arts. After working as an opera director, she turned to fiction. Widely regarded as one of the leading voices in contemporary German literature, Erpenbeck explores themes of history, memory, displacement, migration, and identity through elegant, formally inventive prose. Her novel Kairos (2021), a love story set during the final years of East Germany, won the 2024 International Booker Prize for its English translation. Her other notable works include The End of Days, Go, Went, Gone, and Kairos.
