Jeffrey Eugenides（ジェフリー・ユージェニデス、1960年生まれ）は、アメリカの小説家、短編作家。ブラウン大学卒業後、スタンフォード大学で創作を学んだ。ギリシャ系移民の家庭に育ち、その文化的背景を作品にも反映させながら、アイデンティティ、家族、ジェンダー、愛、アメリカ社会を知的かつユーモラスな筆致で描く作品で高く評価されている。1993年のデビュー作『The Virgin Suicides』で注目を集め、2002年刊行の『Middlesex』は、インターセックスとして生まれた主人公とギリシャ系移民一家の三世代にわたる歴史を壮大なスケールで描いた長編小説として、2003年のピューリッツァー賞 フィクション部門を受賞した。著書に『The Virgin Suicides』『Middlesex』『The Marriage Plot』『Fresh Complaint』などがある。

Jeffrey Eugenides (born 1960) is an American novelist and short story writer. After graduating from Brown University, he studied creative writing at Stanford University. Raised in a Greek American family, he often draws on themes of identity, family, gender, love, and the immigrant experience in his fiction. Widely regarded as one of the leading contemporary American novelists, Eugenides first gained international recognition with The Virgin Suicides (1993). His novel Middlesex (2002), an epic multigenerational story centered on an intersex protagonist and a Greek American family, won the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. His other notable works include The Marriage Plot and the short-story collection Fresh Complaint.
