Jayne Anne Phillips（ジェイン・アン・フィリップス、1952年生まれ）は、アメリカの小説家、短編作家、文学研究者。ウェストバージニア大学卒業後、アイオワ大学のアイオワ・ライターズ・ワークショップで創作を学んだ。ラトガース大学ニューアーク校教授を務め、同大学の創作修士課程（MFAプログラム）の創設にも携わった。アメリカ南部やアパラチア地方を舞台に、家族、記憶、戦争、暴力、喪失を繊細な心理描写と詩情豊かな文体で描く作品で高く評価され、現代アメリカ文学を代表する作家の一人とされる。2023年刊行の『Night Watch』は、南北戦争後のウェストバージニア州を舞台に、戦争の傷跡と再生を描いた歴史小説として高く評価され、2024年のピューリッツァー賞 フィクション部門を受賞した。著書に『Black Tickets』『Machine Dreams』『Lark and Termite』『Quiet Dell』『Night Watch』などがある。
Jayne Anne Phillips (born 1952) is an American novelist, short story writer, and literary scholar. After graduating from West Virginia University, she earned an M.F.A. from the renowned Iowa Writers' Workshop at the University of Iowa. She later served as Professor of English at Rutgers University–Newark, where she helped establish the university's MFA Program in Creative Writing. Widely regarded as one of America's leading contemporary novelists, Phillips is known for her lyrical prose and psychologically rich fiction exploring family, memory, war, trauma, and the Appalachian South. Her novel Night Watch, set in post–Civil War West Virginia, won the 2024 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for its powerful portrayal of survival and healing in the aftermath of war. Her other notable works include Black Tickets, Machine Dreams, Lark and Termite, and Quiet Dell.
