ジェイソン・ブレナン（Jason Brennan）は、アメリカの政治哲学者。アリゾナ大学で哲学の博士号を取得し、現在はジョージタウン大学マクドノー・スクール・オブ・ビジネス教授。政治哲学、応用倫理、公共政策を専門とし、民主主義や政治参加、市場の倫理、自由と権利などを研究している。代表作『アゲインスト・デモクラシー』（原題 Against Democracy）では、すべての市民が平等な政治的権力を持つことや、政治参加そのものに価値があるという民主主義の前提を問い直し、政治的知識を持つ人々により大きな権限を与える「エピストクラシー（知者による統治）」を選択肢として提示。政治的無知や党派性が有権者の判断に及ぼす影響を検討しながら、民主主義をそれ自体が目的ではなく、よりよい統治を実現するための制度として評価すべきだと論じている。
Jason Brennan is an American political philosopher and Professor at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business. He received his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Arizona and specializes in political philosophy, applied ethics, and public policy, with research addressing democracy, political participation, the ethics of markets, liberty, and rights. In "Against Democracy," Brennan challenges the assumptions that all citizens should have an equal share of political power and that political participation is inherently valuable. Examining political ignorance, irrationality, and partisanship among voters, he considers "epistocracy"—rule by the knowledgeable—as a possible alternative and argues that democracy should be judged not as an end in itself but as a system for producing competent and just government.
