ジェイミー・サスキンド（Jamie Susskind）は、イギリスの法廷弁護士、思想家。オックスフォード大学で歴史と政治を学んだ後、法曹界に進み、ハーバード大学やケンブリッジ大学でフェローを務めた。法律、政治哲学、テクノロジーを横断し、AI、アルゴリズム、デジタルプラットフォームの発展が、権力、自由、平等、民主主義などの政治的価値や社会制度をどのように変えるかを論じている。代表作『Future Politics: Living Together in a World Transformed by Tech』（未邦訳）では、AIやアルゴリズムが社会の重要な意思決定を担うようになることで、政治権力が政府だけでなくデジタルシステムやそれを所有する企業にも移っていく可能性を分析し、テクノロジーが人間の自由や民主的な意思決定を損なわないための新たな政治思想と制度の必要性を論じている。
Jamie Susskind is a British barrister and thinker whose work explores the intersection of technology, politics, and law. He studied history and politics at the University of Oxford before entering the legal profession and has held fellowships at Harvard and Cambridge Universities. Drawing on law, political philosophy, and technology, he examines how artificial intelligence, algorithms, and digital platforms are transforming power, freedom, equality, and democratic institutions. In "Future Politics: Living Together in a World Transformed by Tech," Susskind considers how increasingly powerful digital systems could assume roles once associated primarily with governments and other political institutions, shaping social decisions and influencing human behavior, and argues that new political ideas and institutions will be needed to preserve freedom and democratic control in the digital age.
