ジェームズ・キャロル（James Carroll、1943–）は、アメリカの作家、ジャーナリスト。元カトリック司祭であり、宗教、戦争、政治、平和を主要なテーマとして、小説とノンフィクションの両分野で幅広い作品を発表してきた。『ボストン・グローブ』紙で20年以上にわたりコラムニストを務め、カトリック教会とユダヤ教の関係、アメリカの軍事政策、信仰と社会をめぐる論考でも広く知られている。代表作 An American Requiem: God, My Father, and the War that Came Between Us では、軍人だった父との関係、自身の司祭時代、そしてベトナム戦争を軸に、信仰と家族、国家の葛藤を描き、1996年の全米図書賞（ノンフィクション部門）を受賞した。
James Carroll (1943–) is an American author and journalist. A former Catholic priest, he has written extensively on religion, war, politics, and peace in both fiction and nonfiction. He is also well known for his long-running column in *The Boston Globe*, where he explored issues ranging from faith and ethics to American foreign policy and the Catholic Church. His best-known memoir, *An American Requiem: God, My Father, and the War that Came Between Us*, examines his relationship with his military father, his years in the priesthood, and the legacy of the Vietnam War. The book won the 1996 National Book Award for Nonfiction.
