ジャック・ゴールドスミス（Jack Goldsmith）は、アメリカの法学者。ハーバード・ロースクール教授を務め、国際法、国家安全保障法、大統領権限、インターネット法などを専門とする。イェール・ロースクールで法務博士（J.D.）を取得し、連邦最高裁判所のアンソニー・ケネディ判事のロークラークなどを経て、バージニア大学、シカゴ大学で教鞭を執った。ブッシュ政権では国防総省特別顧問、司法省法律顧問局の司法次官補を歴任し、国家安全保障をめぐる法政策にも実務の立場から関わった。代表作『Who Controls the Internet? Illusions of a Borderless World』（未邦訳、Tim Wuとの共著）では、インターネットが国家の境界を越えた自由な空間になるという初期の構想を検証し、中国による情報統制、オンライン取引、著作権などの事例を通じて、国家の法律や規制、地理的境界がデジタル空間にも強い影響力を持ち続けることを明らかにしている。
Jack Goldsmith is an American legal scholar specializing in international law, national security law, presidential power, and internet law. He is the Learned Hand Professor of Law at Harvard Law School and holds a J.D. from Yale Law School. Before joining Harvard, he taught at the University of Virginia and the University of Chicago and clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy. Goldsmith also served in the George W. Bush administration as Special Counsel to the Department of Defense and as Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Counsel, giving him direct experience with the legal dimensions of national security and executive power. In "Who Controls the Internet? Illusions of a Borderless World," co-authored with Tim Wu, Goldsmith challenges the early vision of the Internet as a borderless space beyond government control, using cases involving censorship, online commerce, and intellectual property to show how national laws, regulatory authority, and geographic borders continue to shape the digital world.
