ジョージ・ソーンダーズ（George Saunders、1958–）は、アメリカの小説家、短編作家、エッセイスト。風刺、ユーモア、SF的な発想を巧みに織り交ぜながら、格差、消費社会、権力、人間の善意といったテーマを描き、現代アメリカ文学を代表する作家の一人として広く知られている。代表作『リンカーンとさまよえる霊魂たち』では、南北戦争中に息子を亡くしたエイブラハム・リンカーンを中心に、生者と死者の声が交錯する独創的な語りによって、喪失と悲しみ、赦し、人間性を深く描き出した。同作は2017年にブッカー賞を受賞し、その革新的な構成と豊かな想像力で高い評価を得ている。
George Saunders (born 1958) is an American novelist, short story writer, and essayist celebrated for his inventive style, dark humor, and compassionate exploration of contemporary life. Blending satire, speculative fiction, and psychological insight, he examines inequality, consumer culture, power, and the complexities of human morality.
