Djamel White is an Irish novelist and editor from Dublin. After leaving school at seventeen, he became involved with Fighting Words, a creative-writing organization for young people, before studying English and creative writing at University College Dublin, where he later earned an MFA in Creative Writing. He has worked in publishing, served as a fiction editor for the literary and art journal Profiles, and managed a tattoo shop. His debut novel, "All Them Dogs," published in 2026, was longlisted for the Booker Prize. Set in West Dublin, it follows Tony Ward, who returns home after spending five years in England following the murder of a rival gang member. As Tony tries to reestablish himself in Dublin's criminal underworld, he becomes increasingly drawn to Flute, a former schoolmate who is now an enforcer for a local crime boss. Through their volatile relationship, the novel explores masculinity, violence, desire, loyalty, and tenderness within a world shaped by crime and fear.
