Rachel Clarke（レイチェル・クラーク、1972年生まれ）は、イギリスの緩和ケア医、作家、元ジャーナリスト。University of Oxfordで哲学・政治学・経済学を学んだ後、BBCやChannel 4で国際報道に携わった。その後、医師を志してUniversity College Londonとオックスフォード大学で医学を学び、現在は英国NHSで終末期医療に従事している。医療現場での経験をもとに、生と死、パンデミック、臓器移植などをテーマとしたノンフィクションを執筆し、深い共感と優れた取材力で高い評価を受けている。2025年には"The Story of a Heart"でWomen's Prize for Non-Fictionを受賞した。著書に"Your Life in My Hands"、"Dear Life"、"Breathtaking"、"The Story of a Heart"などがある。
Rachel Clarke (born 1972) is a British palliative care physician, former broadcast journalist, and bestselling author. After studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford, she worked as a journalist for the BBC and Channel 4, reporting on international conflicts before retraining as a doctor at University College London and Oxford. She now practices palliative medicine in the UK's National Health Service (NHS). Drawing on her frontline medical experience, Clarke writes acclaimed nonfiction that explores illness, death, compassion, the COVID-19 pandemic, and organ transplantation with exceptional empathy and clarity. In 2025, her book "The Story of a Heart" won the Women's Prize for Non-Fiction. Her other notable books include "Your Life in My Hands," "Dear Life," and "Breathtaking."
