レス・ペイン（Les Payne、1941–2018）は、アメリカのジャーナリスト。『ニューズデイ』紙で長年記者・編集者を務め、公民権運動、人種問題、国際政治、組織犯罪など幅広いテーマで調査報道に取り組んだ。1974年には、ニューヨークの教育現場における人種差別を告発した報道で、チームの一員としてピューリッツァー賞（公益部門）を受賞した。代表作『The Dead Are Arising』では、娘のタマラ・ペインとの共著でマルコムXの生涯を膨大な資料と数百件に及ぶ証言をもとに描き直し、2021年のピューリッツァー賞（伝記部門）を受賞した。
Les Payne (1941–2018) was an American journalist. A longtime reporter and editor at Newsday, he was widely respected for his investigative reporting on civil rights, race relations, international affairs, and organized crime. In 1974, Newsday received the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service for its investigation into racial inequities in the New York school system, with Payne as a member of the reporting team. His best-known work, "The Dead Are Arising", completed with his daughter Tamara Payne, offers a deeply researched biography of Malcolm X and was awarded the 2021 Pulitzer Prize for Biography.
