ライアカット・アハメド(Liaquat Ahamed、1952年 - )は、ケニア生まれのアメリカの作家、投資家。ケンブリッジ大学とハーバード大学で経済学を学び、世界銀行で投資部門を率いたほか、ニューヨークの資産運用会社フィッシャー・フランシス・トリーズ・アンド・ワッツで最高経営責任者(CEO)を務めるなど、長年にわたり国際金融と資産運用の実務に携わった。代表作『世界恐慌 経済を破綻させた4人の中央銀行総裁』(原題 Lords of Finance: The Bankers Who Broke the World)では、第一次世界大戦後の国際金融秩序を担ったアメリカ、イギリス、ドイツ、フランスの中央銀行家4人に焦点を当て、金本位制への固執や金融政策上の判断が世界恐慌へとつながっていく過程を描いている。同書は2009年のFinancial Times and Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year Award、2010年のピュリッツァー賞歴史部門を受賞した。
Liaquat Ahamed (born 1952) is a Kenyan-born American author and investment professional. Educated in economics at the University of Cambridge and Harvard University, he worked at the World Bank, where he headed its investment division, and later served as chief executive of the New York investment management firm Fischer Francis Trees & Watts. Drawing on decades of experience in international finance and investment management, he turned to writing about financial and economic history. In "Lords of Finance: The Bankers Who Broke the World," Ahamed follows four central bankers in the United States, Britain, Germany, and France after World War I, showing how their commitment to the gold standard and their monetary policy decisions contributed to the Great Depression. The book won the 2009 Financial Times and Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year Award and the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for History.
