奥山 淳志(おくやま あつし、1972–) 写真家。出版社勤務を経て1998年に岩手県雫石町へ移住し、東北の風土や文化、人が生きることをテーマに写真と文章による作品を発表している。長年にわたり一人の開拓民や地域に暮らす人々に寄り添いながら制作を続け、写真と言葉を往還する独自の表現で高い評価を受けてきた。伊奈信男賞、日本写真協会賞新人賞、写真の町東川賞特別作家賞、林忠彦賞などを受賞。代表作『庭とエスキース』は、一人の開拓民との14年にわたる交流を通して、人が生きることの意味を静かに問いかける写文集である。
Atsushi Okuyama (born 1972) is a Japanese photographer. After working for a publishing company, he moved to Shizukuishi, Iwate Prefecture, in 1998 and began documenting the landscapes, culture, and people of northeastern Japan. Combining photography with reflective prose, his work explores the meaning of human life through long-term relationships with his subjects. He has received the Ina Nobuo Award, the Photographic Society of Japan Newcomer's Award, the Higashikawa Award, and the Hayashi Tadahiko Award. His best-known book, "A Garden and Esquisse," chronicles a fourteen-year relationship with an elderly homesteader and reflects on memory, art, and the experience of living.
