大村 亨（おおむら とおる）は、日本の音楽評論家、ビートルズ研究家、作家。長年にわたりビートルズと日本の音楽文化を研究し、新聞、雑誌、放送資料、関係者への取材など膨大な一次資料をもとに、日本におけるビートルズ受容史を検証してきた。史料に基づく実証的な研究姿勢に定評があり、ビートルズ来日や日本の音楽文化に関する数多くの新事実を明らかにしている。2016年刊行の『「ビートルズと日本」熱狂の記録 ― 新聞、テレビ、週刊誌、ラジオが伝えた「ビートルズ現象」のすべて』では、新聞約100年分、週刊誌約6,400冊、テレビ・ラジオ番組など膨大な資料を分析し、日本における「ビートルズ現象」の歩みを詳細に描き出している。
Toru Omura is a Japanese music critic, Beatles historian, and author. He has devoted many years to researching the Beatles and their impact on Japanese popular culture, drawing on an extensive range of primary sources, including newspapers, magazines, television and radio archives, and interviews with people involved in the events. Known for his meticulous, evidence-based approach, Omura has uncovered numerous previously overlooked aspects of the Beatles' reception in Japan and the cultural phenomenon they inspired. In The Beatles and Japan: A Record of Beatlemania—How Newspapers, Television, Weekly Magazines, and Radio Reported the "Beatles Phenomenon", he reconstructs the history of Beatlemania in Japan through a comprehensive analysis of contemporary media coverage, offering one of the most detailed accounts of how the Beatles transformed Japanese popular culture.
